Women's Workshops Work for Me

I am on the Women's Council at my church. This is the Women's Council:

Our purpose is to provide opportunities for the women to grow in their relationship with the Lord, in fellowship with one another, and in their roles at home, work, and play. (my paraphrase) This past weekend we held Women's Workshops - an evening with nine choices of classes that we had signed up for ahead of time. These classes included things like Protecting your Household, Getting to Know Your Car, and Getting Fit. IT WAS WONDERFUL.

This is my friend, Amy, who put together and led the team who pulled off such a fun evening. I would want Amy on any team I was on.

I went to three fun workshops. The first choice was called "Beauty on a Placemat" and I totally didn't understand what it was when I signed up. Still, it was great. Mrs. Selle uses placemats as an anchor for a creative centerpiece on her table. She creates her centerpieces with conversation in mind and opportunities to discuss the Lord with those who sit to eat. They were amazing - yet very simple in nature. Here's my first attempt:

My second choice was on freezer meals and Saturday, when cutting bell pepper for one recipe, I cut a second for future use and froze it. Also, Sam's had a super deal on strawberries so I bought some to eat this week and froze some for later. Thanks, Women's Workshops!

Now, if I could just get up the nerve to try making a pie with one of the SEVEN rolls of dough I brought home and now sit in my freezer. . .

vanilla pudding, cool whip, and angel food cake - add your strawberries and make a beautiful, simple trifle dessert

Oh, I'm impressed! I might just have to copy some of those ideas!

By the way, who's the lady in the teal blue turtleneck? She looks familiar.
