Our Life. . .

It's Wednesday. It's 6:19AM. It's hot.

We have no air conditioner. It went out yesterday. It went out while I was with the three kids at Little's OT appointment. The Landlord was charming and empathetic when Honey spoke to him about the predicament. I think the Landlord's empathetic responses included, "If you guys wouldn't try to keep the house so cold. . ." and "Your thermostat should never be below 79 and your fan should run constantly" and "Hope you guys have some fans." Nice guy.

The TV met it's match yesterday. Sad commentary on a television when it's match is a two year old, 30 pound, girl. KB was looking for her something or other and the next thing I heard was a crash that sent me running. The monster TV (from 199?) was laying face down on the carpet and KB was diving into an explanation that included everything but, "I am so sorry, mommy." Honey had just left so I called him and asked if it was okay for the beast to lay like this all day - he turned around and came home. In the end it didn't matter. The fall was too much for the old box and at 11:00AM when we turned it on for the first time. . . Barney was blue.

On a happier note, we did go out on a date last night. My kind of date - frugal. We had a restaurant.com coupon for Mexican food at a place we'd never been. They had the best refried beans I have EVER tasted: vegetarian. aren't all beans vegetarian? They make their own salsa each morning and it was TASTY. So, 10$ off 20$ at Salinas and then a $10 Groupon at Anna Marie's - an ice cream shoppe that was heavenly. (Our bill - $9.56. Booya!) Then a trip to Walmart for an extra fan. Good times.

Today is a new day. Air conditioner guy is coming at 11:00AM and after a sweet conversation with the Landlord (can't wait) we might have air in time for the kids return from Bible School. The little 19" TV we had in seminary is hooked up in the den. Barney will be purple again today. Small but purple.

That TV had a good run for two house holds for a good long time I think it was circa 1994.

everybody needs a "tracie" in their lives! i think the deal with the vegetarian beans is that they cook them in animal fat...which in my opinion makes it quite tasty. :) glad you got a date night in the midst of the madness.

Dave wants to know is KB's alter ego the Hulk? How in heavens name did she not wind up underneath the TV?
