As a rule I don't shop at Dierbergs. I LOVE walking into that grocery store. . . it is just so pretty. It makes you feel pretty to walk through it. The produce glistens. The shelves are well stocked and TALL. Even the lighting is different. It's just pretty.
It's also ridiculously expensive. Their sale prices are usually more than other stores regular prices. That bugs me.
This week I made an exception to my rule and I went to Dierbergs. I have subscribed to a new blog written by a woman here in town (locals can email me and I'll tell you what it is). She goes through the grocery stores in town, does coupon matching, lists the BEST deals, tells you what she's going to do, gives you a $5 option at Walgreens, etc. Good stuff. Usually I start with one of her posts and build from there. THAT's what happened on Saturday and Dierbergs ate my dust!
Roll of Bounty - $.50
4 Boxes of Cereal - $.99 each
3 English Muffins - $1 each
1 lb. Broccoli Crowns - $1
3 Scotch Brite Sponges - $0
2 Yogurts - $1.98
Honey Butter Spread - $1
Total: $12.13
I didn't keep track of the actual cost of all this, but I estimate it to be about $41 (that's conservative) and that means I saved $28.87 (or 70%!)
I might just have to become a regular at Dierbergs!
