Dinosaur Train Come to Life

The children have become big fans of the PBS show Dinosaur Train. I am amazed at Little's ability to name all the different species of dinosaur! She can name them all but Bubba likes to play them.

Our science center is pretty terrific and for months had a dinosaur exhibit we kept committing to take the kids to. Last week - the last week of the exhibit - Honey took Bubba to check it out!

The T-Rex is a favorite but, apparently, in concept only. Once Bubba came face to "face" with the monster, he decided walking away was his best move. Buddy, on Dinosaur Train, is a T-Rex but he's a baby, and small, and orange, and he sings. Bubs had no idea Buddy plans to grow up into one of these!
Stegosaurus is another favorite and this one's size was a bit more Bubba's speed. Little was thrilled to see this photo and her conversation with her brother was adorable.

Can you see the Triceratops in the photo? Bubba's face is priceless and I can just imagine him thinking, "You have GOT to be kidding me!"

The Brontosaurus was outside. Ned. Ned rides the Dinosaur Train and is a junior conductor. Bubba has called this guy Ned EVERY TIME he has referred to him. Awesome.
Funny enough, this was Bubba's favorite part of the excursion. He got to drop his penny in and watch it swirl around and around. He has mentioned this almost daily. We found a coin in the parking lot this past week and Bubba said, "I need to go to the Science Center and put in my penny." He finally settled for my proposal that he take the coin to his room, put it in his bank, and the next time we go to the Science Center he can take it with him. I am NOT worried about forgetting this. He will remind me.

And he'll ask where Ned went.

I'm glad they had fun! Looks like your little dino lover was a bit braver during this exhibit than mine was...

And because I don't think there are enough annoying people or events in your life, I thought you should know that Ned the Quadruped is actually a Brachiosaurus. I'm channeling my five-year-old right now, who corrects me when we watch the show. We love you guys!
