Missing Tooth

Little lost her third tooth this week.  It was all very surreal.

I helped her brush her teeth at the end of last week and she cried out, "Owwww!"  I took a look and her front/bottom tooth was so very loose.  It was literally hanging on by a thread.

Honey is mostly in charge of the teeth brushing so I assumed he knew and was trying to surprise me with a gap later in the month.  I was wrong.  He hadn't noticed either.  The night I showed him, he reached into her mouth and pulled it out.  Pop.  Just like that.  She was thrilled.

Actually, ALL the kids were excited and wanted to be a part of putting the tooth into the pillow.  All the while they were talking about what they thought the fairy would bring as a surprise.

Three teeth.  That's how many it took before one of the kids asked why we hung the pillow on the door instead of putting it under a pillow on Little's bed.  Bubba asked.  I think I handled the question truthfully.  I explained to my "too smart for his own good" son that we hang the pillow on the door at our house because our sleep is very precious and we wouldn't want to risk waking someone up just so they can have a surprise in the tooth pillow.  That answer sufficed and he went on to the next thing.

The next tooth to the left (her left) is loose too and it is only a matter of time till it goes.
Hello awkward, gawky phase.

I just love the toothlessly awkward phase! Not sure why, but I think it's so cute when they are in between the lost baby teeth and the not-yet-grown in adult teeth.
