For the past three years we have had an event at our church that has really been fun for our women. We have a night of workshops; everyone in attendance gets to choose three. We have covered topics like "Power Tools 101" and "Estate Planning". There have also been the topics like "Cake Decorating" and "Beauty on a Place Mat". Everyone gets a little bag to collect goodies in and a schedule to tell them where to be. . . it's a real blast and always well done. (Kudos to my friend, Amy)
This year we moved the event to November and that allowed for topics dealing with holidays. Amy pushed asked me to do the workshop on traditions and I was real excited until I started reading Noel Piper's book:
WoW. I went through the stages of grief realizing this was not going to be as simple as I thought. I stressed out more than I am willing to admit (oh, I just did) and finally gave in a week before the event and asked God to bring all the thoughts I was having under His Lordship and to help organize those thoughts, weeding out those motivated by sin.
Result: it went pretty well. The title:
I put together my first power point presentation, had a table of examples for folks to look at,
had a little gift for every attender, and I even think the content was pretty good. I ended up having a blast and am so thankful Amy pushed so hard asked me.
Now I have to go send my mom an email telling her the three things I am thankful for. . . it's an old Cheely tradition.

Content! We want to hear the content! At least the outline if you're copyrighting the rest for massive speaker fees at events around the planet. :)

Even though none of our family could be together for Thanksgiving this year, I loved getting to share our e-gratitude. Those who did join our table carried on the family tradition. MM
