Little got a pack of gum for her birthday.
When she was three I told her she could chew gum when she was 6 . . . I was trying to get her off my case and figured three years was long enough for her to forget the conversation. FAT CHANCE! She has reminded me almost weekly for three years that, “I get to chew gum when I’m six.” When she opened the bag with the gum she said, “Dad! It’s gum because I am six!”

I slowly explained to her that gum is for chewing but not swallowing (she kept giggling). I said that she should chew it until the flavor is gone and then spit it into the trash. That made her laugh too.

She put a piece in her mouth, made a terrible face as she chewed:

and then made a strained look as she. . . swallowed it:
Maybe we should try again when she's seven.

HAHA! Jordan always swallows her gum too. And the threat of a bubble blowing out of her butt only seems to make her laugh.

Well, at least it doesn't really take 7 years to digest like they used to tell us :).

My brothers told me when I was little that gum stays in your system for seven years if you swallow it! (Debbie got the same story too)I thought the same thing about watermelon seeds and that is why I was such a chubby child!
