Saturday Before Christmas

Today was truly unbelievable.

I was up at 6:00AM and downstairs sewing before 7:00AM. After just 15 quick minutes of sewing I got the kids up and eating breakfast. There was snow on the ground (barely) but when I turned around Bubba had on his hat and boots and was ready to go "throw a snowball".

While outside running, with the wind in his face, Bubs tripped and face planted in the gravel driveway. This resulted in one loose tooth, one chipped tooth, and a bloody lip. An impromptu trip to the dentist was now in order. While waiting for the departure time to arrive, I baked a couple dozen cookies for a church reception tomorrow.

The trip to the dentist revealed there was no real damage done to Bubba's nerves or roots - meaning his teeth are safe. Still, Dr. Dan gave multiple reasons to not replace the chipped portion of tooth which means we are looking at a couple years of a semi-gap-toothed grin.

The afternoon was spent making another batch of cookies, appetizers and a cheese ball for a dinner party tonight, and lasagna for the kids' dinners. A little more sewing. Refereeing. Clothes changed and off to my friend Amy's for a VERY fun dinner.

I am tired. Tuckered out, even.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. . . . (?)

Good night.
