Went to the dentist tonight to have a filling replaced; the second in two months time. The first was still hurting. I talked to my dentist about the pain, he took x-rays, he asked questions, he tapped around in my mouth and then announced, "It's root canal time!"
I have two options:
1. Call the hoity-toity specialist in the Valley and have it taken care of within the week.
2. Go to SLU, a teaching hospital, and have the equivalent of Alex Carev do my root canal for half the price.
I'll let you know.
Either way, I am having a root canal.
I feel old.

Oh, Becky.....I hope you don't have to have anymore done after this one. I've had five! My first one was done when I was about 11 years old and the tooth ended up being extracted (not to discourage you). The other four "took" and I now have alot of dead but usable teeth in my mouth. After finally paying cash for them all through the blessed finance plans, I am now going poor getting them all crowned one at a time. Don' be scared but be prepared for the adrenaline of the epinephrine. It reminded me of the preparation before my c-sections (which I can't remember if you had any or not).
By the way, pregnancy played a HUGE part in the breakdown of that tooth, I'm sure. That's my excuse, anyway. Believe it or not, there's some validity to it, too.
Oh yeah...one more thing....my middle child (age 3) is having two root canals in a few weeks. Yeah, I'm not kidding.
Now, who's old?
Becky, I am so sorry! I am sure either option is a good option :). You are NOT old! (and neither am I!)
Ughh. Bless you!
It's so much better on the other side! I love that we both got one in the same month. Weird.
