Mother's Day

Mother's Day was . . . fine.

I have three children under five. Two have special needs. It's not like Mother's Day is a lot different than any other Sunday - to some degree.

Then there are moments.
That moment where my daughter says, "I love you so much, mommy."
That moment where my son yelled, "Happy Mother's Day, Mom!"
That moment when HONEY made the pancakes for lunch!!!

I also received VERY special cards this year.
Bubs made this at school AND a bookmark with his finger print on it. It is one of my favorite things and I'll be keeping that bookmark, I tell you. SO SWEET.
Little brought home this card and flowers - daisies, a favorite.
The inside of the card is, by far, the best part:

Then there was the card from my husband. My scanner isn't working for some reason or I would post it here. IT WAS GREAT. This card made me laugh out loud and truly made my day. I don't know why - it just hit the right spot.

On the front there is a woman asleep on the couch. Beside her, on the floor, is a cup of coffee, open book, and plate of cookies. Encircling the couch are the cat, two children with their mouths hanging open, and a father with his arms thrown into the air and a look of panic on his face. The front of the card reads, "OH NO!!!!"

You open the card and it says, "The server's down!" I LOVE that!!

If the card wasn't enough, I get an afternoon away - alone! and Honey gave me the movie "50 First Dates" (He said he knew it was a good "scrapbooking movie" - that either means he has plans to let me work on my scrapbooking. . . or he has planned 50dates that will be worth scrapbooking. I'll let you know.)

So Mother's Day was fine.
BEING a mother is great!
Being the mother of my Honey's kids is wonderful.

In my world, "fine" is usually means "not that great" or "just alright". I hope your mother's day was better than "fine". :)

my card to mom had a woman in a bubble bath with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other.
outside said: if mother's planned mothers' day
inside said: everyone else would go out to eat and we'd stay home!

perfect!
