Growing up is hard to do. . .

Yesterday I did a pretty amazingly mature thing, if I do say so myself. You have my permission to write comment after comment of affirmation after reading this post; we have already discussed my need for approval and for people to like me. . .

The next 90 days of our lives are going to be FULL. Besides the holidays, Honey traveling, and regular therapy/school stuff - there are other things I haven't told you yet. I'll post about it all this week, but for now suffice it to say it's gonna be worthy of a contract with Daytimer. In light of the pending craziness, I sat down yesterday with my Google reader and had a heart to heart. I deleted 15 blogs from my reader - including Rocks in My Dryer. (Pause for you to catch your breath) I only have my personal friends still on my reader, my two Walgreen's connections, the Thrifty Decor chick (because she says she is going to do this cool advent calendar and I don't want to miss it), and the 100 day countdown to Christmas.

After doing this, posts to be read dropped from 57 to 24 in a blink. (For some reason, friends who haven't blogged in MONTHS decided to catch up on the day I decided to cut back!)

Now, don't be foolish and think I didn't keep a list of all my favorite, yet now deleted, blog addresses. The plan is to revisit them after 90 days and see if I "need" to re-subscribe.

I feel so mature. I can feel my hair turning gray.

very impressive...and rocks in my dryer...that was quite the sacrifice.

Shut up! I did this very same thing last night. However, your maturity level is much higher than mine as I chose to keep Rocks In My Dryer and didn't delete as many as you did. Thanks for being such a role model for me.

I'm such a dork - I didn't even know what google reader was and had to look it up. Congratulations, though. I'm glad I don't use it...dangerous.

I also don't know what Google reader is? I will look it up later. Is it a RSS reader thingo? I only read 4 or 5 blogs but I check them everyday. Sometimes twice.

Becky - Can't wait to hear about all the craziness...sorry you have to go through it, but I know this hair dresser who does great color jobs, and, as my friend Heather told me - don't you dare go gray - you are too young! Wait til you are 50 to do it! Then we can get tatoos and let our hair go natural...

Ha - I am at work, reading you blog - that dang google account caught me! Anyway, I also wanted to add that now I can stop seriously thinking of blogging - I wouldn't want to add to your stress!

Can't wait to hear about all of the craziness. Do share! I know Rocks was a sacrifice to let go of. You go girl.

Welcome to the gray hair club :). I am impressed that you got rid of that many blogs--good for you! I am also glad to learn that I am not the only person who doesn't know what a Google Reader is. I will be interested to hear what will be going on in your life in the near future.

Wow. That hurts me that you had to do that...but infinite maturity props for you! Probably got another jewel on your crown for that wise decision!
