Oops, I did it again!!!!
Actually there is no "oops" to it! It was well calculated, perfectly executed. . and I only ticked off an entire line of people, each holding only one item in their hands - hey, I let one go ahead of me and then ten more showed up. What am I supposed to do? Wait till closing to check out? It's a 24 hour store, for Pete's sake.
The guy behind me was really miffed. He exhaled really loudly a couple times to let me know how ridiculous I was, then the coupons started being scanned and his facial expression went from angst to admiration. Thank you very much "I need a smoke and you're holding me up" man.
So here is tonight's stash:
A couple questions may immediately come to the mind of the more observant.
1. Why the hearing aid batteries?? They are usually $9 and I only paid $3. It's fun to get these for my daddy.
2. Why all the Bic pens?? They were ALL FREE. So they are going onto the storage shelf until needed - pens DO run out, you know.
3. Who is the birthday card for?? So many August birthdays. . . Allison, MO, Honey, or my sister. It isn't for a family member. Hmmm.
4. How good was the deal???
Glad you asked! The receipt total came to $137.44 folks!
Now, the Walgreens advertised savings came to $44.08 - that means I saved $44 just for shopping this week instead of last week or next week. NIIIICE.
Then there's the Walgreens coupons, they saved me another $5.60.
And lastly, because I paid $1 for the Sunday paper, I saved another $50.50 - that's a grand total of $100.18 for you folks without a calculator - - and I am going to get another $2 back in a rebate.
The other big event of the night was ticking off a lady in the paper goods section. Seems I got the last three Kleenex boxes and she was not happy. Seems she had already come-a-lookin' and didn't see these three boxes on the shelf. She said a couple ugly things and stormed off to see if there were more in the back. The way I see it, "Finders keepers, losers weepers;" and "All is fair in love and Walgreens." So, if I see her again, "I will taunt her a second time." (name that film?)
Enough. I'm going to go google fun craft ideas that use construction paper. . .

You rock, Becky! I, too, have encountered the huffy people behind me in the line. I usually let the one or two people go in front of me, stating, "Oh, you only have one item and I've got so many. Why don't you go ahead." By the time I let the second one pass, I am hoping the third and fourth one witnessed my "generosity".
Monty Python and The Holy Grail
The card was for Mo.
"I'm being repressed!"
Ooo, ooo!!! Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail! "I'm not dead yet!"
What Sunday paper on steroids did you get? My paper had about 3 good coupons. As always, I'm impressed.
So how do you find out about these Walgreens deals? One of my other friends shops at Walgreeens and it's just never really crossed my mind. Do you just look through the weekly cirucular flyers (and your Sunday paper)?
