We have been living in our house for 17 months now and using an oven that has no ability to regulate temperature. I have burned all but two things I have cooked in it over the past 17 months but have just kept on trucking since my landlord has always scared me a bit.
Well, now that we are growing more amiable, I found the courage to ask him about a new oven. I just walked right up and asked if he and the wife would discuss replacing the oven. I let him know that I bought a thermometer and tried to determine how "off" the temperature was, but it was inconsistent and therefore inconclusive. His answer? "Okay - I didn't know."
One week later we have our new oven. New to us, that is. The wife got a brand new oven and gave the rental house their older one. Smart woman, I say. And I am thrilled to report that I have cooked in it two nights in a row and everything came out golden brown perfection. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Landlord.

Lookin' good! Ask you and shall receive :).
I had no idea your oven didn't work. Is that why you were always cooking in your crockpot?
