I have heard about this book by Mrs. Seinfeld. I ignored this book because I honestly didn't think there was any way to sneak veggies into EASY recipes and have my kids actually enjoy them. And it was written by a woman who looks 18 and my pride just couldn't believe that the book wasn't fake - something published BECAUSE she is Mrs. Seinfeld.
I am a sinner - sue me.
I came face to face with my sin this week when I went to a playdate at my new friend Natalie's house. The kids and I all trooped over on Monday and when we entered the house Natalie was finishing up some muffins from Deceptively Delicious. I saw the food processor full of pureed carrots - the jar of apple sauce - and my first thought was, "Oh Great."
Natalie said, "I don't cook but these recipes are so easy. I thought I would try to have something healthy for us to snack on." My second thought, "Oh Great."
Little ate TWO muffins (that's the most carrot she has had in her system since she began to chew solid foods). Bubba wouldn't stop playing long enough to eat anything. Natalie had TWO muffins. I had TWO MUFFINS!!!! My third thought, "THESE ARE GREAT!!!" I looked through the cookbook and the recipes looked - quick and easy. "This is GREAT."
My Catholic friend would tell me that this post is penance. I like to think that this is public confession and an example of God's grace. See, Bargain Brianna is giving away a copy of this book and I have the freedom to enter to win. I am not limited because of my snarky ways.
You can enter too! Now you are thinking, "GREAT!!!"

Funny! I had the same pre-book reaction, but was able to get a copy for $5 a couple of weeks ago. We've tried a few things and really like them. My kids didn't go for the cauliflower puree in the scrambled eggs, but everything else is a keeper!
Hmm, I don't know. When you try some more, let me know what you think :).
I got this for Christmas and some of the recipes are great. We LOVE the tacos. However, in my humble opinion, the brownies and grilled cheeses are NASTY!! Let me know if you find any good ones.
