Why I love brownies. . .

That's right - I tried my first green smoothie yesterday. The kids loved it - couldn't quit asking for more. I am not a big smoothie person in the first place, but the fact that I think I had too much Romaine didn't help. Made me a bit sick - and that from the girl who used to do the blender skit for laughs.

Looks prettier this way, eh? Think I'll have to try again with less green in my green smoothie.

Hey B - We make smoothie's a lot here too. haven't done the green thing, yet. We make ours (enough for me and the kids) with 16 oz. organic soymilk, 2 bananas, and 2 big handful's of frozen strawberries. If I have it on hand, I will throw in some vanilla soy protein powder. The kids LOVE smoothies, especially since they can help me throw all the stuff in the blender. Maybe you should start with a little green and add a bit more each time. Let me know how it all works out:)

I love smoothies too. I never thought to add romaine to the mix! I use all frozen fruits (Banannas, strawberries, peaches, and blue berries. I them add vanilla soy, vanilla yogurt and then wheat germ or oatmeal! I have been saving $4.48 a day by not going to Starbucks for my morning soy chai latte!

We love smoothies at our house, but I am not sure that we love them enough to branch out to the green ones. I think I might just prefer to have salad for supper :).

Hooray, Hooray for the Green Smoothies, B!!! Alice T. from church just told me that she's been reading my blog and has also jumped on the Green Smoothie Bandwagon. Keep the green luv a'comin...

Um, yeah, it looks like you put in a whole heck of a lot of romaine in the blender!! Remember, the proportion is about 60% fruit to 40% greens. But since these are your first tries with green smoothies, I'd highly recommend making the proportions of fruit even higher, like even 80/20. Don't give up, keep experimenting, it takes time for one's palate to adjust.

BTW--Dave has truly jumped about the Green Smoothie Luv Train, too!
