The world of blogging can really suck away your time. I have SEVERAL blogs I like to read and my trusty Google Reader to help make checking them more efficient. Still, some of these women post to their blog 4+ times a day (how in the world?) and yesterday, one even had 8 new posts!
So, here is my question: WHEN do YOU read blogs and how many do you read on a regular basis? Discuss.
(this is the part where you leave a comment - don't be shy.)

I usually check blogs either first thing in the morning when the kids watch Little Einsteins or during nap time. I check 25 blogs regularly (through google reader) and maybe once a week I will "blog surf." I would say just reading blogs takes maybe 10-15 minutes/day.
Becky, I seriously think that you are one of "those" women who somehow is able to both read blogs and write on your own several times a day! I am amazed, every time I see 6 new posts from you in my reader!
I am way too embarrassed to admit how many blogs are in my google reader...but it is 58. Of course they are all people I know and am friends with. I check them in the morning while I am eating my breakfast at work which takes 5-10 minutes usually and then again at night after work or before I go to bed. I rarely update my own blog because I just don't have much to say...and I don't know how to do it. Dan does it for me and I never want to bother him with it.
I only read 4 daily:
Yours
Ours (Dave & Julia's)
Another friend's
The Fail Blog
(http://failblog.wordpress.com/)
Thanks for reading ours, by the way.
I am in front of the computer at work most of the day and I have a ton of blogs that I check regularly so I have to be careful that checking blogs doesn't eat up my whole day. John Mark and I use bloglines - I don't know if that is better or worse than google reader?
I check my bloglines a few times a day, when I need a little "break." I skim the ones I don't think I will care to read all the way through, read the short ones I'm interested in, and click on longer ones I want to read, but don't have time to read right then - I open them in seperate windows and then minimize those to read later (usually only a couple get done this way).
When blogs I'm reading begin to weigh me down I unsub. It usually happens with organizing and homeschooling blogs where the gal posts multiple times each day and we are led to believe her life is completely perfect.
I. can't. stand. those.
So... I don't read them anymore! *wink*
Hey Beck, I use Bloglines and I love it. Currently, I have about 60 blogs that I subscribe to. I (sometimes) read them during naptime when the kids are sleeping but I do most of my reading, browsing, posting, and lurking at night after everyone is asleep. I stay up WAAAAAYYYYY TOOOOOO late.
well, i am a throughout the day reader. the computer is next to the kitchen, so i just check in as i go. and i probably read 20 blogs or so. i would HATE to see how much time i spend reading!!!
I read far too many blogs - and gues, Jawan and Becky, WHERE I read a good many of them!!!
I just went over to GoogleReader to see what it is all about.
Here's one to try: thepioneerwoman.com - funny stories, beautiful pictures and the greatest recipes!!!!!

I read at different little break times in my day. I don't use google reader or any other blog thing...are they REALLY multiple posts, or does it just show that they have made an edit or change to the post of the day? ('coz, WOW! 6 is a LOT of posts for 1 day!!!!!)
Tracey
ps. thanks for stopping by my blog!
Good Morning, Your mother wrote and told me to leave a comment. I'm still new at this computer business. Yours is the only blog I read - about twice a week. I love keeping up with your children. ML
What the heck is google reader? Obviously I'm not as cool as I thought I was...
Becky, I have 18 blog links on my blog, but I only check about 6 of them daily because they are the only ones that change daily! I haven't ever tried blog surfing or bloglines. If I have more than one post to do, I save them and post them one day at a time so my readers don't get overwhelmed:) I usually check blogs and facebook during morning naps (when I should be napping, too) and before bed.
Dare I write a comment that is so the other way than everyone else's? I have so little time at the moment that I feel reading blogs isn't the best way to spend it currently. I only check very few and only when I am thinking "wonder what's going on in ___'s life this past week or two". That I do at naptime (now) which is when I'm to do all my non-child rearing tasks. Even now 3 loads of laundry sits by my side waiting for the washer. Maybe when the kids are all in school? :)
I keep tabs on 14 different blogs and I do most of my reading at night when I should be going to bed.
