Glimpses

1. Yesterday I had a glimpse of what "normal" life is like. Little put her pants on all by herself! I emptied the dishwasher while my FOUR year old put her own pants on. Then, since she had gotten cereal all over her shirt during breakfast, we went to change her shirt. She took her shirt off (for pete's sake) while I went to pick out a new shirt. When I turned around and saw her, she was standing in front of me with no shirt! She grabbed my hand, put it up in the air, and slapped it high fives and said, "High five, mom! I did a nice job." Yes you did, dear.

2. A glimpse of lunch today. Bubba was sitting to my right (those are the self created "crusts" on a crustless sandwich). This is the view as I looked straight ahead.
I reached up and touched KB's cheek and Little says, "Mommy loves her so very much." I reply, "Yes I do. And who else do I love?" Little says, "Little!" "That's right, "Says I. Next I point at Bubba and say, "Mommy also loves . . .." and Little fills in, "BUBBA!" Continuing, I point at the empty chair across from me thinking that Little will make the connection that it is daddy's chair (that's what she calls it). I point across from me and say, "Mommy also loves. . ." and Little says, "The blue hutch!" Great.

3. A glimpse at my son's new big boy undies.

He was so excited after picking out big boy undies with CARS on them and rushed to put them on. I didn't have the heart to make him stop and restart. Nice look, eh?

Now all you need for Bubba is a pair of Superman undies for him to wear out the *outside* of his clothes...and he'll be all set for Halloween this year!! You and I were both from that generation when crazy 80's moms made their sons put their underwear on the outside of their clothes to create a cheap costume! :)
