Happy Thanksgiving

What a great day! I am thankful for how our day went - in light of the previous 36 hours, I wasn't sure how it would go. My first couple days as a mother of 3 with no mom, sister, or husband home to help were not promising. When Jeremy called on Monday at 5:00PM I answered the phone with a, "You aren't still at work, are you?" When he said no I screamed, "THANK GOD!!!" What was the problem? Trying to keep KB protected from her loving siblings who have the coordination of . . . two year olds and almost killed her five times, at least.

The second day I take a deep breath and decide we are going to do a project for the landlord and his wife. We make pumpkin bread - mostly I make pumpkin bread, but Little did stir. Then we sit on the floor with a loooong piece of paper and markers. Washable Markers. The coloring went well but when I wanted to take a picture everything fell apart. Bubba threw himself down on the floor (you can see his foot flying up in the photo below) and cried. On a second attempt a little later he just wadded the sign up and pulled which caused the bit in Little's had to tear a bit. She saw the opportunity and completed the tear. I, in turn, screamed, "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!"
So then there was Thanksgiving. We had a nice morning with the kids making "Bye Bye Biscuits" for breakfast. Lily helped wrap the marshmallows in the dough and was amazed that there was no marshmallow when she bit into her cooked biscuit.
Our friends "Ms. April and Mr. Barber" came over for a mini-brunch and good chatting. These are friends you can just relax with and not even clean your bathroom before they come. It was so nice to have them with us and they were great sports about having to go around the table and tell 3 things you are thankful for. They were even better sports when, because of chaos and rabbit trails, they only got to share 2 of their 3 things! We love you Barbers!

The rest of the day was spent lazily watching the 30 min. of Die Hard 4 we couldn't stay awake to finish the night before, eating our mini-meal of turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes and green bean casserole, and doing Sudoku puzzles online and competing for the fastest score. We are so old. As I said - it was nice day.

Ooooh - and to end it all off - KB slept five hours last night and has put herself to sleep all day today too. I am thinking the ears must be clearing up - hallelujah!

I must say, you are doing a great job. Making bread for your neighbors and a Thanksgiving sign wtih a newborn in the house. I'm hoping I remember to brush my teeth when our #3 comes along soon!
